ThePackHub Innovation Zone Live Seminar
The Background
ThePackHub is a UK-based packaging innovation consultancy that specialises in bringing together both its experience and passion to deliver solutions, ideas and innovations to brand owners, retailers and packaging suppliers. ThePackHub also brings together key leaders and innovators from the world of packaging together at industry and networking events including its annual Innovation Zone Live event.
The Objectives
For the ThePackHub Innovation Zone Live 2015, the company approached its long term PR partner Suzanne Howe Communications with a brief to create a short film or series of films depicting the spirit, content and passion of the event.
ThePackHub has previously filmed events but the results did not match expectations and could not be used as a marketing tool.
The new film needed to be:
• suitable to be used on their website and social media, and as a marketing tool for forthcoming events.
• relevant across many sectors of industry from packaging designers, manufacturers, retailers and packaging producers.
The Strategy
SHC used its experience in social media and broadcasting production to source a camera operator and editor with similar experience and who understood the brief.
SHC arranged a series of Skype briefings to identify specific filming needs, and it was decided to have a series of ‘Vox Pop’ style interviews with key speakers and delegates. These would be positioned within the film for which the main objective was to give an overall ‘story’ of the event.
A prospective list of interviewees was made, with a set of key filming points including registration, the start of the conference, key speakers, networking and exhibition, and an interview with key ThePackHub personnel.
Key branding and sound bites were agreed with SHC responsible for delivering these in each interview, which would be produced at the event with as many of the target interviewees as possible.
Once the plan was agreed, the SHC team and film crew were able to attend the event and action the plan with little or no disruption to the ThePackHub team on a very important and busy day for them.
