Unicorn announces five new appointments

International supplier Unicorn Ingredients has made five new appointments at its UK headquarters and in its China office, as its global expansion continues.

The Epsom, Surrey-based company, which supplies a varied range of premium quality seeds and specialist products around the world, has bolstered its logistics, commercial and technical functions.

Quinton Germishuizen joins as Shipping Manager, in a role which includes managing the shipping department and team and negotiating rates with clearing forwarding agents and shipping lines. Germishuizen was previously Africa Supply Chain and International Logistics Manager for the South African company Digistics.

Unicorn has also recruited Jake Yerrell, previously Sales Manager for hospitality supplier Dennys Brands, as its new Commercial Manager. His role at Unicorn includes key account management, business development, managing supplier accounts and negotiating purchasing.

Also joining the UK team is Sonia Dell’Oste. As the new Technical Administrator her role includes managing some of the company’s laboratories testing regime, auditing suppliers and processors and carrying out supplier approval procedure for customers. Unicorn has the highly regarded BRC for Agents & Brokers accreditation as well as Soil Association organic certification, so observing the highest technical standards is paramount. Dell’Oste joins from the Atlantis The Palm resort in Dubai, where she was Food Safety and Hygiene manager.

As well as its Epsom headquarters, Unicorn also has satellite sales offices around the world, in China, India and Germany.

All international offices are staffed by local experts who speak their native languages as well as English.

In Unicorn’s China office, Yin Shuang Jie (also known as Alina) joins the Quality Assurance team from trading company Zhongjucheng (Beijing) Culture Corporation where she was a buyer. At Unicorn her job is to assist the China Country Manager with all quality related issues and to assist the UK office in communicating with Chinese suppliers and customers.

Zhao Xuan also joins in a support role in Unicorn Ingredients’ China office, as part of the quality assurance team as co-worker with Alina.

With the five new staff already on board, Unicorn promises to continue to go from strength to strength in 2020.
