The Background

Suzanne Howe Communications has been Sabert Corporation Europe’s PR partner for over four years.

At the end of July 2025, Sabert Corporation Europe acquired Colpac Limited in the UK.

SHC was tasked with spreading the news to the widest possible audience in the UK, France and Germany.


The Objectives

The objective was to raise awareness about the strategic importance of Sabert’s acquisition of Colpac Limited, strengthening sustainable food packaging leadership in the UK and beyond.

The acquisition represents a strategic milestone for Sabert, significantly enhancing its presence in the UK, Irish and European markets, and reinforcing its global paperboard offering across its channels of operation.

 

Colpac’s proven capabilities in design, manufacturing, and customer partnerships are a natural fit for the Sabert group.

The combined business will offer an expanded product portfolio across our channels of operation, with strengthened design, agility, enhanced UK-based manufacturing capabilities, and a stronger platform for sustainable innovation.

The Strategy

A press release outlining the acquisition was deployed to the relevant UK, French and German foodservice, packaging, sustainability and business media. It was also sent to local media close to Sabert’s UK facility in Kimbolton, Cambridgeshire and Colpac’s facility in Flitwick, Bedfordshire.

The acquisition was also a key part of the PR announcement that Colpac’s products would be on show alongside new products from Sabert, at the annual Lunch! trade show at ExCel, London in September.

The Results

The two releases received a record-breaking 116 pieces of coverage, with over 800 brand mentions, reaching an audience of almost over 65 million.
