Intelligas boosts gas interlock safety with Smartstart

Intelligas, the gas safety and control systems specialist, has come up with a way to make sure gas interlock systems are working as soon as they’re turned on.  With the new “Smartstart” system, Intelligas systems check themselves automatically every time they’re used.

“While our competitors tinker with old systems based on old technology, Intelligas has come up with something that takes gas safety to a whole new level,” says Andrew Dickenson, Managing Director of Intelligas.  “Smartstart checks that all the airflow sensors are working every time you start up the system.”

Smartstart tackles a well-known weakness of conventional gas safety systems.  “Air pressure switches can get stuck,” he explains.  “With Smartstart, the system tells you immediately if there’s a problem.  It checks that the fans will work and it tests that the gas interlock system is functioning properly.”

It’s made possible by the up-to-the-minute, solid-state technology Intelligas uses. “There’s no need for gas systems to be based on thirty-year-old technology,” says Andrew Dickenson.  “By using the latest electronics we can change systems to adapt to changing needs.  We can incorporate new ideas on safety and we can alter the way systems work to cope with future rule changes.”

“The choice is simple,” he says.  “You can come to Intelligas and get something designed in the 21st century for the 21st century, with 21st century components and 21st century reliability and flexibility.  Or you can buy an antique, off the shelf unit, from someone who’s been ignoring decades of change.”
